Wi-Fi that reaches the bottom of the garden
Most home routers struggle to cover even the patio, let alone a hot tub at the bottom of the garden or a workshop at the back of the drive. We fit purpose-built outdoor access points — Ubiquiti, TP-Link Omada or similar — that handle rain, frost and summer sun without dropping out.
Where outdoor Wi-Fi makes sense
Anywhere you want to stream music, video-call, or run a smart device outside. Common installs across Stockport include:
- Patios and decking
- Hot tubs (music + app control)
- BBQ areas and outdoor kitchens
- Outdoor bars and pubs
- Workshops, garages and outbuildings
- Garden play areas and trampolines
Done properly — not just a long cable
We weatherproof the cable entry, mount the access point in the best signal position (usually under the eaves), and link it back into your existing network so devices roam seamlessly between indoor and outdoor Wi-Fi without re-connecting.
The kit that actually lasts outside
There's a big difference between an indoor access point bolted to an outside wall and a unit built for the job. We fit IP54/IP65-rated units (Ubiquiti UAP-AC-M, TP-Link EAP610-Outdoor, or similar), with weather-rated cable, drip loops at the cable entry, and gel-filled RJ45 connectors that handle frost and damp without corroding. We don't fit consumer 'outdoor extenders' that fail after one winter.
How we plan the coverage
We walk the area you want covered with a signal-test phone and map where the dead spots are. From there we pick the mounting point — usually under the eaves at the rear or on a chimney — that gives the best line of sight to the patio, hot tub or workshop without aiming straight into a neighbour's bedroom. Cable is run inside the loft and out through an existing soffit hole or a sealed core drill, never trailed across the wall.
Stockport gardens we've covered
Long Edwardian gardens in Heaton Moor and Heaton Chapel; new-build estates in Bramhall and Hazel Grove where the router is in the front hall and the garden's 25m behind; stone-built cottages in Marple where Wi-Fi struggles to escape thick walls; and pub beer gardens across Cheadle and the town centre needing guest Wi-Fi for customers.
Bigger projects: garden offices & outbuildings
If you're working from a garden room or kitting out a workshop, see garden office Wi-Fi for dedicated coverage with hard-wired backhaul.
