Stockport takes its Freeview signal from Winter Hill, roughly 20 miles west. Most of the town has a clean line-of-sight — a properly aligned Yagi-18 on the chimney will pull a rock-solid multiplex. The exceptions are pockets shadowed by the town-centre viaduct, the Peel Hall ridge behind Offerton, and parts of Marple/Bredbury on the eastern edge, where a high-gain aerial or a Saddleworth relay swap sometimes solves what an amplifier never will.
