Built for how your business actually works
Commercial networks aren't home Wi-Fi scaled up — they're planned around the premises, the number and type of devices, where staff actually work and what needs to stay connected. Tills, payment terminals, CCTV, phones, printers, guest devices and staff Wi-Fi can all share the same infrastructure without being dumped onto one flat network.
Business Wi-Fi designed for the whole premises
Business Wi-Fi starts with coverage and capacity, not the biggest router on the shelf. We look at the floor plan, walls, device density, cable routes and where access points can be wired back to the network. The result might be one well-placed access point or several coordinated APs with a wired backbone, sensible channel planning and separate guest/staff networks. For a planned installation, a non-invasive coverage assessment can form part of the quotation; if deeper hands-on diagnosis is needed first, we'll explain any charge before diagnostic work starts.
What we install
Everything from a few access points and a small managed switch through to full structured cabling, racking, router/firewall setup and multi-floor Wi-Fi. Patch points are labelled so future moves and changes are straightforward. For longer switch-to-switch, rack or building backbone links, see our fibre backbone installation service.

Our install process
The exact scope changes from site to site, but the process stays simple and controlled.
- Site survey and coverage/cable-route planning
- Clear written quote with agreed equipment and scope
- First-fix cabling planned around the premises
- Second-fix: switches, access points and racking
- Commissioning: Wi-Fi, VLANs, guest networks and monitoring where required
- Handover information where included in the agreed scope
Business router & firewall installation
If the ISP router is too limited for the site, we can install and configure a business router or firewall as part of the network. That can include sensible firewall rules, VLANs, guest and staff separation, dedicated networks for payment devices or CCTV, dual-WAN failover and remote management on supported equipment. The setup is matched to what the business actually needs rather than adding complexity for the sake of it.
Network segmentation done properly
Staff, guests, CCTV, payment terminals and IoT devices often benefit from being separated rather than sharing one flat network. We use VLANs and sensible access rules to reduce unnecessary cross-access and make the network easier to manage. Where card-payment or security requirements apply, we can build the network around the specification supplied by your payment provider, IT team or compliance adviser.
Already have a network that is unreliable?
If the network is already installed and the problem is dropouts, dead ports, cabling faults, failed equipment, confusing patching or an inherited cabinet nobody understands, that is a different job from designing a new network. See our business network repairs and fault-finding service. We trace the fault and keep serviceable equipment where it still makes sense instead of treating every repair enquiry as a full replacement project.
If the network is working but the cabinet, cupboard or patching has simply become tangled, cluttered or difficult to support, see our network cabinet and comms cupboard tidy-up service.
Paired with the right internet
A good network is only half the job — pair it with the right connection. See business internet solutions, business phone systems and CCTV installation.
