Connect the whole property, not just the first router
A connection in the farmhouse or main office does little for a workshop, yard camera or accommodation building that cannot reach it. We map the buildings, people and equipment, then separate the incoming internet decision from the way the network reaches each part of the site. That distinction avoids buying another connection when the real problem is distribution.
Choose the incoming connection on its merits
We assess fixed internet where available, Starlink and 4G/5G connectivity. Availability, sky view or mobile signal, service terms and business use determine the choice. Our Business Internet service explains how we assess primary and backup connections.
Get from one building to the next
Protected Cat6 routes, fibre between buildings and point-to-point wireless each have a place. We assess distance, existing ducts, access, building separation and the path between radios. Fibre can provide electrical isolation between buildings; any copper or outdoor route needs a suitable design rather than an indoor patch lead stretched across the yard.
Networks for the equipment that actually matters
Business routers and gateways, managed switching and access points can bring the site into one supportable system. UniFi and other suitable equipment can be used where appropriate. We can connect CCTV, VoIP, workshops and offices, with outdoor Wi-Fi and guest or staff separation where required.
- Farms and equestrian properties
- Rural businesses, workshops and yards
- Large estates and outbuildings
- Holiday accommodation and guest areas
- Remote offices
- Multi-building commercial properties
Resilience and support with clear limits
Where justified, dual-WAN resilience can use a second incoming service with a compatible gateway. Failover still depends on power, the internal network and the secondary connection, and active calls or sessions may reconnect. We identify what needs to keep working and test the agreed behaviour. Remote support can be scoped for suitable equipment, with access and responsibilities agreed in advance.
Installed equipment that belongs to the customer
This service is for permanent customer-owned installations. EDD does not currently offer equipment hire, rental fleets, event-connectivity packages or project-end removal and redeployment packages. Equipment ownership and provider subscriptions are set out in the quotation. If you need an installed interim connection while awaiting broadband, the existing Temporary & Site Internet page explains that specific use.
A useful starting point for the survey
Send the postcode, a plan or marked-up aerial view of the buildings, existing internet details and what needs connecting in each area. Distances, possible cable routes, available power and any existing switches or access points help us decide what needs inspecting. We agree the network scope with your IT provider where one is involved and explain any diagnostic work before it starts.
