When 4G or 5G is the right answer
Some properties simply can't get decent broadband — full-fibre isn't available, the copper line is too long, or the village exchange is overloaded at peak times. A dedicated 4G or 5G install with an external antenna often outperforms FTTC broadband by a wide margin, especially uphill of Stockport.
What's actually installed
The difference between a £30 plug-in dongle and a proper install is huge — external antennas on the roof or wall pick up signal a dongle inside the house can't reach.
- External directional 4G / 5G antenna
- Business-grade router (Teltonika / similar)
- Aimed at the strongest local mast
- Wi-Fi distributed through the property
- Optional dual-SIM failover
- Speed-tested before sign-off
Rural & backup scenarios
Farms, hill-edge cottages, holiday lets, builders' compounds, and event sites all benefit from 4G / 5G. Businesses use them as a backup to fibre — so card payments and phones keep working when the main line drops.
Signal-tested before we commit you to anything
We bring a calibrated test router and a directional antenna on the survey. We sweep all four UK networks, log RSRP / RSRQ / SINR at the mounting position, and run a 10-minute real-world speed test in both directions. You see the actual numbers before you decide — not a postcode coverage map that says 'good 4G' and then delivers 6 Mbps.
Antennas, mounts and grounding
The antenna does most of the work. We fit Poynting, Panorama or QuWireless directional units depending on which mast we're aiming at and what bands the SIM supports. Mounted on a pole, chimney bracket or wall — whichever gives clean line of sight — with shielded LMR-400 coax to keep signal loss minimal. Outdoor metalwork is bonded to earth where required.
Where we install in & around Stockport
Hill-edge cottages above Marple and Mellor; farms around Disley, High Lane and the Goyt Valley; new-build streets in Bramhall and Bredbury still waiting for Openreach FTTP; canal-side properties on the Macclesfield Canal; and event sites / temporary builders' compounds anywhere in Greater Manchester needing a working connection within 24 hours.
Paired with the right router & Wi-Fi
We typically pair the 4G / 5G connection with a proper router and mesh Wi-Fi for whole-house coverage. See Wi-Fi & home network and business internet solutions.
