Internet that actually keeps the business running
For most small businesses, one cheap broadband line isn't enough — a couple of hours offline means lost orders, dropped calls and unhappy customers. We design connections around uptime: a primary fibre line, a 4G / 5G backup that takes over automatically, and a router that knows which connection to use.
Options we install
Connection type depends on your address and your budget. We'll check what's available at your postcode before recommending anything.
- Standard business broadband
- FTTP / full-fibre to the premises
- Leased line consultations
- Starlink for rural & site offices
- 4G / 5G primary or backup connections
- Dual-WAN routers with auto-failover
Small business connectivity
Offices, salons, shops, dental practices, garages — anywhere a few staff and a card machine need a connection that just works. We'll plan it once, install it cleanly, and you don't think about it again.
How we plan a resilient connection
We start with a postcode check on Openreach, CityFibre and the alt-net suppliers active in Stockport, then sense-check actual speeds with neighbours where possible. We size the failover by what the business genuinely can't lose — most sites can survive 24 hours on 4G if card payments and one or two VOIP lines keep flowing. The router policy is set to drop and reconnect automatically with no human action.
Common Stockport scenarios we sort
Different parts of the borough need different answers — there's no single 'best' connection.
- Town-centre offices: FTTP + 4G backup
- Industrial units on Brinnington / Bredbury: bonded FTTC or 5G
- Salons & retail: standard fibre + dedicated card-machine VLAN
- Care homes: dual-circuit with separate staff and resident Wi-Fi
- Rural / Marple hill addresses: Starlink as primary, 4G as backup
- New-build offices waiting for Openreach: 5G interim line
What 'business-grade' actually means
Consumer broadband and 'business' broadband often run on the same wire — the difference that matters is the router, the support SLA, and a static IP if you need one for VPN or remote access. We're upfront about which kit is genuinely better and which is just marketing. Where a leased line is the right answer, we'll say so; where it isn't, we'll save you £400 a month.
Works with your network
Connection is half the job — the other half is the network behind it. See commercial network installation and VOIP phone systems.
