Business Wi-Fi Installation in Manchester & the North West

Wi-Fi planned around how your business works: the rooms people use, the devices they carry and the network behind each access point. We survey, design, supply and install practical commercial wireless networks, upgrade suitable existing systems and give you a clear route for ongoing support.

  • Coverage and capacity planned for your premises
  • Wired access points, PoE & suitable switching
  • Guest and staff network separation where needed
  • Installation, commissioning & agreed support

Send your postcode, floor plan, problem areas and approximate number of users. We explain the survey scope and any diagnostic charge before work starts.

Network-first Wi-Fi

Coverage is only one part of a reliable wireless network.

The gateway, switching, cabling and access-point design all matter. The visual below shows the infrastructure chain we assess before deciding what the Wi-Fi layer actually needs.

Network topology

A business Wi-Fi system is more than an access point.

The exact hardware changes by site, but a planned installation normally follows this logic: the connection is protected and managed first, then wired switching feeds access points and the devices that rely on them.

When good broadband still leaves people struggling

Calls dropping as staff move rooms, guest devices competing with business traffic, a meeting room with weak coverage or a mesh system that needs regular restarting all deserve a proper diagnosis. We separate incoming internet performance from wireless coverage, congestion, cabling and device problems before recommending equipment.

A site survey with a useful outcome

We assess the layout, wall construction, likely interference, existing network and the places where people actually work. Coverage is only one part of the brief: simultaneous users, calls, handheld devices and visitor access affect capacity and placement. The agreed survey may include inspection and measurements; a predictive design or formal report is specified separately where required. Read our business Wi-Fi survey guide for what to prepare.

  • Offices, reception areas and meeting rooms
  • Shops, workshops and suitable commercial premises
  • Hospitality, care and multi-building sites
  • Existing equipment, cable routes and usable network points

Access-point design, wired backhaul and PoE

Where practical, access points connect back to a switch using Cat6 data cabling. This avoids relying on a chain of wireless hops between rooms. We plan mounting positions, channels, transmit power, switch capacity and the available Power over Ethernet budget together. Longer or separate-building routes may suit fibre. More access points or higher power do not automatically improve a network.

Roaming that is checked with your devices

A shared network name can let staff move between access points, but the phone, laptop or handheld device makes its own roaming decisions. Supported roaming features and sensible radio settings can help; they are not a guarantee that every call will continue without a break. We test representative devices along agreed walking routes and explain any limitations.

Guest access and staff separation

A visitor network should have an agreed relationship with the business network. Where appropriate, we configure separate networks, supported VLANs, firewall rules and guest restrictions across compatible gateways, switches and access points. We check that guests cannot reach the agreed private resources while authorised staff can still reach the printers and services they need. An extra Wi-Fi name alone does not establish that separation.

UniFi where it suits the job, reuse where it makes sense

UniFi gateways, switches and access points can provide a practical managed platform. We choose equipment around the premises and support requirements rather than prescribing one model everywhere. Existing cabling and suitable hardware can be retained after assessment. A modest office may need a small improvement; a busy or multi-building site may justify a designed system with central management.

Wi-Fi within the wider commercial network

Use Commercial Network Installation when the whole wired and wireless network needs planning. Our Business Internet service covers the incoming connection and backup options. An Office Technology Fit-Out can coordinate the move, phones and AV; Remote Site Connectivity covers building links and difficult rural sites. We work alongside your MSP and agree configuration and handover responsibilities.

Commissioning and support after installation

Agree the acceptance checks before installation: coverage in working areas, representative devices, guest restrictions, wired links and normal applications. We explain equipment ownership, administration access and any remaining dependencies at handover. Ongoing network support is scoped around suitable equipment and agreed responsibilities. A wireless upgrade cannot remove an internet-provider outage; backup connectivity needs its own design.

Business Wi-Fi or a home network?

For a domestic property, use our Home Wi-Fi & Network Installation service. For a workplace, our Business Wi-Fi vs Consumer Mesh guide explains when managed access points become worthwhile. The decision follows the use, complexity and support needs of the property.
