Plan around the table, people and platforms

We start with the room dimensions, seating, display position and the calls or presentations people actually make. A small room used with a staff laptop may only need a display and a suitable USB video bar. A longer boardroom may need different microphone coverage, camera framing and speaker positions. More boxes are not automatically a better answer.

What a straightforward room can include

We can supply the appropriate hardware and complete the installation, including mounting, cable routes and normal configuration. We confirm the display's suitability, camera view, microphone pickup and speaker arrangement as a connected system.

  • Commercial display and suitable wall mounting
  • Camera and microphone or combined video bar
  • Soundbar or speakers suited to the room
  • HDMI and USB connections for laptops
  • Wireless presentation where suitable
  • Network/data points and cable management

BYOD: connect the laptop people already use

Bring your own device means a participant's laptop hosts the meeting or presentation. We plan its connections to the display, camera and audio so the expected devices are available in the chosen application. USB-C ports and cables do not all carry the same video, data and charging functions; the actual laptop, dock and cable combination is checked rather than assumed.

Teams, Zoom and Google Meet compatibility

Suitable peripherals can be selected for the customer's Teams, Zoom or Google Meet workflow. Compatibility depends on the hardware, operating system, application and connection method. A laptop-based setup is different from a dedicated room appliance with its own licences and administration. We confirm what is included and coordinate account or policy requirements with your IT provider; EDD is not claiming official platform-integrator certification.

Reliable connections and an orderly room

Camera USB, presentation HDMI and network cabling need planned routes. We consider connector access, service loops, cable protection and the table position before fixing anything. For a wider site with several screens or other presentation areas, see Commercial AV Installation.

Test the meeting, then show staff how to use it

Commissioning follows the agreed everyday workflow: connect a representative laptop, show content, select the camera and microphone, check audio in both directions and confirm staff can change sources. We demonstrate normal operation and basic recovery steps, with any account, licence or support responsibilities explained. Internet failure or a conferencing-platform outage cannot be solved by promising a fault-proof room.
