Internet & Wi-Fi for Pubs and Hospitality Venues

Tell us which devices stop working, where it happens and whether the problem affects wired equipment as well as Wi-Fi. A broadband-line fault, an overloaded wireless link and a poorly placed access point need different fixes. We check the current connection, router, cabling and coverage before recommending replacement equipment.

Useful starting information includes a floor plan, approximate busy-period device numbers, the locations of tills and payment terminals, guest areas, staff offices and any outbuildings. We also need to know which systems have their own supplier or support contract.

Guest Wi-Fi should be designed around the access visitors need. Staff devices, payment equipment, CCTV and management systems may need separate network arrangements, with access and bandwidth rules agreed for the equipment in use. We coordinate with your IT or payment-system provider where their requirements affect the network; installing a separate Wi-Fi name alone is not proof that systems are isolated.

Fixed broadband may be the best option where a suitable service is available. Rural sites or premises with limited fixed connectivity may justify Starlink or a suitable mobile connection. We assess the available service, mounting or antenna options and how the connection will feed the venue network.

Where backup internet is appropriate, agree which services it must support and test the changeover. Failover can reduce disruption, but active calls, payment sessions or other connections may need to reconnect. Power arrangements and third-party systems remain part of the assessment.

Separate buildings need more than an extra router plugged into a distant socket. The route, distance, access and required capacity determine whether cabling, fibre or a point-to-point wireless link is suitable. The far building still needs its own switching and Wi-Fi plan. We agree the installation route and responsibility for any associated building or specialist work before proceeding.

We agree access, the work area and any required downtime with you. Before handover, the installed connection and agreed coverage or device checks should be recorded, along with who holds the relevant administration access and who supports each system.

For a network taken under an agreed management arrangement, ongoing network support can provide a clear contact route. The support scope and any response arrangements are agreed separately; a one-off installation does not imply a guaranteed emergency attendance time.
