Independent Sky TV & Sky Q satellite work
Evolution Data & Digital is an independent satellite engineering business, not Sky. We do not sell Sky subscriptions or claim affiliation with Sky. What we can handle is the infrastructure at the property: the dish and mount, the correct compatible LNB, coax cabling, external connections, alignment, relocation and the network side of a wider TV setup. If the problem sits with a Sky account, subscription or Sky-owned receiver, that part remains with Sky.
- New or replacement Sky-compatible satellite dishes
- Compatible LNB replacement after the existing system is identified
- New coax feeds, damaged-cable replacement and tidy rerouting
- Dish realignment and signal-quality testing
- Dish relocation around extensions, rendering and building work
- Property-side preparation before or alongside a Sky service visit
New and replacement Sky satellite installations
Where a property needs a new satellite path for Sky TV or an existing installation is no longer usable, we can install or replace the property-side dish, mounting hardware, compatible LNB and cabling where the site has a suitable line of sight and safe mounting position. We align and test the satellite system rather than guessing from a receiver percentage. The Sky subscription and Sky receiver equipment itself are arranged through Sky.
Sky Q signal faults — diagnose before replacing
“No satellite signal”, intermittent channels or reception that became unreliable after weather or building work does not automatically mean the whole system needs replacing. We check the signal path and the physical installation first: dish position, mount movement, LNB compatibility and condition, connectors, water ingress, coax damage and obstructions.

- Dish or bracket movement
- Failed or incompatible LNB
- Loose, corroded or water-damaged connectors
- Damaged or deteriorated coax cable
- Obstruction or lost line of sight
- Existing installation altered during roofing, rendering or extension work
Sky Q LNBs, wideband, hybrid and communal systems
Not every Sky-connected dish is wired the same way. Domestic Sky Q systems, installations that also need legacy or Freesat compatibility, and communal SCR/dSCR systems can use different LNB or distribution arrangements. We identify what is actually installed and what receivers need to be served before changing the LNB or cabling. A passive splitter is not a universal fix for satellite feeds.
Dish relocation for extensions, rendering and building work
Satellite dishes often need moving because of an extension, new roof, render, solar work or a change to the outside of the building. If a suitable new position has the required line of sight and can be accessed safely, we can relocate the dish, reroute or renew the cable as needed, realign the system and test it after the move. We do not promise that every requested wall position will work before checking the sight line and mounting surface.
Sky Q Mini boxes and the home network
Sky Q Mini boxes normally receive their service through the Sky Q system and the home network rather than a separate satellite cable from the dish. Independent viewing in several rooms is a Sky Multiscreen / Sky Q Mini service and the subscription and Sky equipment remain with Sky. Where the actual problem is weak Wi-Fi, poor mesh placement or the property network, we can diagnose and improve that infrastructure through our Wi-Fi & home network installation service.
More than one TV — Sky Multiscreen or mirrored distribution?
They solve different problems. If different rooms need to watch different Sky programmes at the same time, Sky Multiscreen with compatible Sky Q Mini equipment is the Sky route. If the requirement is simply to mirror the output of one central Sky box onto other screens, we can design an independent HDMI distribution system around suitable existing Cat6, coax or new cabling. Mirroring one source is not the same thing as independent Sky Multiscreen.
Moving from Sky Q to Freesat, Sky Glass or Sky Stream
If you are leaving Sky Q, the existing dish may still be useful for Freesat, but the LNB and receiver compatibility need checking before assuming it can simply be plugged in. See our Freesat installation service. Sky Glass and Sky Stream receive their Sky service over broadband rather than a satellite dish; for Glass mounting and the network around it, see Sky Glass wall mounting.
Part of our satellite service
This page is the Sky-specific route within our wider satellite installation and repairs service. For Freesat, international satellite, general dish faults or a system where the receiver type is not yet clear, start with the parent satellite page and we will route the job from there.
Coverage
We arrange domestic Sky-compatible satellite work across Stockport, Greater Manchester and nearby Cheshire. Suitable larger or combined technology projects can be considered further across the North West depending on the scope and location.
How quotations and fault-finding work
A quote or non-invasive site assessment is free. If the scope is clear from the existing installation, photos and a short conversation, we can agree what needs doing before the visit. If hands-on fault diagnosis is needed before the repair scope can be confirmed, we explain any charge before diagnostic work starts. Once the scope is agreed, the quotation is fixed for that scope.
