2. On-site assessment of access, mounting condition and surrounding risks.
3. Safe detachment of the aerial or dish at height.
4. Removal or retention of brackets and poles as agreed with you.
5. Removal of accessible redundant cabling where included in the scope.
6. Sealing or making good of suitable cable entry points where part of the agreed work.
7. Tidy-up of the working area and disposal of the removed equipment.
8. A clear note of any roof, brickwork or access issue that would need another trade.

Full removal is not always the right answer. Where a bracket is sound and might be useful in the future — for a replacement aerial or a wall-mounted satellite dish — it can often be left cleanly capped. Internal cabling frequently stays in place where pulling it out would mean lifting floors or disturbing decoration for no practical benefit. Shared or communal equipment must not be removed without the proper authority from the building owner or management company, and equipment that serves another room, property or tenant needs to be identified before anything is taken down.

Some jobs are worth booking sooner rather than later — not because every old aerial is dangerous, but because a specific situation has changed. Loose or hanging aerials, corroded poles that have started to move, equipment striking tiles or brickwork in wind, falling cable, and water tracking down old cable routes are all reasons to have the equipment assessed.
