Marple, Marple Bridge, Romiley, Compstall, Mellor, Strines and High Lane sit on the eastern edge of Greater Manchester — a mix of stone-built cottages, sprawling 1930s semis, detached properties on big plots and rural farmhouses. Fibre availability varies wildly street by street: parts of Romiley and central Marple have full-fibre from CityFibre or Openreach, while Mellor Lane, Strines Road and the lanes above Marple Bridge often still sit on FTTC or worse. Thick stone walls, long footprints and outbuildings mean a single ISP router almost never covers the whole property — a properly designed mesh or access-point network is what actually fixes it.

We design and install proper whole-home WiFi networks using ceiling-mounted wireless access points from Ubiquiti UniFi or TP-Link Omada — not consumer plug-in extenders that halve your speed. For older Marple stone cottages we usually run Cat6 data cabling to one or two ceiling APs; for larger detached properties in Mellor and Strines we typically deploy a 3–4 AP UniFi network with a single SSID that roams seamlessly between floors and outbuildings.

A lot of Marple customers have already tried Google Nest, eero or Deco mesh systems and found them still patchy in stone walls or outbuildings. Mesh works — but only if the units backhaul over cable, not wirelessly. Plenty of properties above Marple Bridge and along Strines Road still get 15–30 Mbps at best over copper. We're Starlink installation specialists — chimney or gable mount with a clean sky view, weather-sealed cable entry, and the router properly integrated into a UniFi or mesh network so the whole property benefits, not just the room the dish plugs into.

We run garden office WiFi via direct-buried Cat6 or fibre, install outdoor-rated access points under eaves, and can bridge outbuildings that are too far for cable using proper point-to-point wireless — not a repeater.

4K CCTV systems from Hikvision and Uniview are our bread-and-butter on the larger detached properties around Mellor, Strines and upper Marple Bridge — cables hidden in eaves, recorder set up so you actually know how to use it, app configured on your phone before we leave. We also install hard-wired smart doorbells (no dying batteries in a Peak-edge winter) and structured Cat6 data cabling for renovations and new builds.
